Throughout the nation, it’s estimated that at least 25% of the population was homeless in 2014. There have been many links between homelessness and mental health issues, including the homeless population in Roanoke, of which 70% were receiving or had received mental health treatment. In Deltona, only 76.7% of the population owns a home. Combined with the median income of $43,441, which is less than the national median, residents can struggle to afford a home or place to live.
