An Overview of Mental Health in Jurupa Valley California

With a rich history dating back hundreds of years, Jurupa Valley is a mix of high and low density residential housing, citrus farming and other agricultural concerns as well as commercial and retail industries. The city itself was recently incorporated in 2011 and includes the communities of Belltown, Crestmore Heights, Glen Avon, Indian Hills, Mira Loma, Rubidoux and Sunnyslope.

By the late 1800’s Jurupa Valley was already starting to live in the shadow of its neighbor to the south, Riverside, California. Cited by city planners as place with much room for growth Jurupa Valley is still relatively small at just 44 square miles with a population of just over 100,000 people. Though, like much of California the city is experiencing growth of another kind – people with mental health needs.
