About Me

As a therapist, I specialize in using mindfulness-based approaches to treat clients who struggle to cope with issues such as anxiety; depression; one’s career or “life’s calling”; making sense of spiritual experiences; questions that arise during identity development and significant life transitions; and the emotional challenges that often accompany one’s acceptance of a life-changing illness.

My approach to therapy focuses on empowering clients to direct the path of their own life by providing skills for successful emotional regulation and by focusing on creating therapeutic opportunities for developing self-knowledge that builds worth, compassion, efficacy, understanding and respect for the self.

My work has led me to believe in the human capacity for emotional health and resilience- even under the toughest of circumstances. To nurture that capacity, I use evidence-based interventions to inform the way I do therapy and I actively draw on my knowledge of what has been effective for my clients in the past.

At the same time, I have also learned that each person’s journey toward emotional health is unique; I honor this perspective by remaining open, curious, and flexible in the way I address the individual therapeutic needs of each client.

Therapy with me is collaborative; I work with you to provide treatment that honors choice, self-efficacy, mutual respect, accountability, and the development of skills tailored to help you in successfully meeting your unique challenges. If you are interested in the possibility of working together, please reach out for a free 20-minute initial consultation to discuss your therapeutic needs and to determine whether I might be the right therapist for you in your journey.
