Cristina Mazzeo

With over 15 years of experience in counseling, my specialties include, but are not limited to; individual, couples and family therapy. My clients have been those who have been afflicted by addiction, abuse and dysfunction. These can, but are not limited to generational patterns, anxiety, depression, family trauma, etc.

I have been privileged to have worked in a multitude of therapeutic settings - some of my most noted are: 1) Correctional setting - within the confines of a prison setting, directly with offenders to address emotional/mental that had led them to their current status; 2) Working as a Postpartum Specialist at the Postpartum Stress and Family Wellness Center, directly with pre/postnatal population to educate and support them in this most difficult transition of life; 3) Educational Setting - as an Adjunct Professor, working directly with college students within the physical and virtual classroom, instructing a multitude of psychology courses, in addition to helping them gain a better understanding of life balance to utilize in their personal/professional lives.

I would describe my approach to therapy as solution-focused. This therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. During therapy, complementary methodologies and techniques are integrated to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
