Helen Ward

Hello, my name is Helen Ward. I have a Master in Social Work degree from Walla Walla University. I graduated in 2000 and have been practicing in the field of social work ever since. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in many different areas within the field of social work. They include community, healthcare, advocacy, mental health, military and veterans, and hospice and palliative care. I have worked primarily with adults 18 years and older. Currently, I am working with the veteran population and their spouses providing individual and group therapy. Also, I have worked with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, domestic violence, PTSD, and substance abuse issues.

I think of my treatment approach as integrative because I prefer combining several different, but complimentary treatment models. Working in the field of social work for 20 years, I have established many meaningful relationships with individuals from varying backgrounds. My style is open, honest, non-judgmental, and trustworthy. In working with individuals in counseling services, I am extremely aware of my own biases and the recognition of the courage it takes to ask for help. I consider it to be an honor to walk with someone along side their journey.
