I believe therapists should listen, not just "nod". I believe therapists should be just as authentic as they ask of their clients. I am known for dressing in what I am comfortable in (not what a therapist "should" be wearing), finding creative and adaptable strategies to handle life, my bold eyeglasses, and curating the right blend of tech savvy with unplugging. Usually, a cup of coffee and my bicycle are within arms reach. I believe the most incredible journey in life is the one in which we are curious about possibilities and "what if's".
My style is person centered, solution focused, and highly collaborative. I tend to use a psychodynamic, strengths-based approach that enhances skills you already use, mixed with a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, family of origin, and feminist therapy. Rather than just one technique, I tailor my sessions your need.
Therapy is a journey of healing and hope. I will encourage you to trust your gut, trust the process, and trust yourself in what you need. I will encourage you to explore and make mistakes. Together we will work on building acheivable, tangible and practical skills and celebrate successes in the journey of hope, health, and healing.
