I help couples build communication skills so that they can be more emotionally intimate, healthy partners. I work with men in a variety of ways, including learning how to resolve conflict respectfully and understanding more about their anger and how to respond to it. I treat people who are suffering from anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Finally, I can help those feeling general angst, ennui, malaise, or existential distress of any kind navigate their concerns and find a healthier, happier, and more meaningful life.
I provide psychotherapy based on science. There is clear scientific evidence that therapy works! There is also clear research about the type of therapy that helps people get and stay well. Accordingly, I primarily provide cognitive-behavioral therapy as it has the most robust evidence for its effectiveness.
There is also a lot of research that shows that the most important factor in an effective therapy is having a meaningful relationship with your therapist. Fortunately, I naturally provide an understanding ear, an empathetic heart, and have the humble confidence to hear you when what I am doing is not helping so that we can try something different.
