About Me

Tamra Rigdon is a well-established, educated Licensed Social Worker in Madison County. Tamra Rigdon has six beautiful children, nine grandchildren, an amazing husband, and a strong, supportive family. Tamra has put herself through college and obtained a BS in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She then continued on to receive a Masters in Social Work.

Tamra has worked in the field of Social Work for many years now. She has worked with clients involved in the DCS system, drug addiction (IOP), spousal abuse, youth conflict, mental health issues, PTSD, mTBI, and divorce and has worked with the military for over 20 years. Tamra Rigdon has also been a CASA for Madison County, Indiana.

Tamra decided to become a parenting coordinator in 2011 after she had been living at Walter Reed Naval Hospital with her son, who lost both legs and received other major injures while serving in Afghanistan. Her daughter also served in Afghanistan and obtained injuries and has a 100% disability rating. Tamra Rigdon trained in Bethesda, MD, and continued her training on her return to Indiana along with her son. Tamra is now a Registered Mediator in Indiana and has taken the next step to assist families here in Madison County, who are involved in high conflict cases with children and couples mediations.

Tamra Rigdon’s philosophy in working with families in need is to empower them to learn to resolve their own conflicts. As a parenting coordinator, she has a background and formal training in family dynamics, conflict, family mediation, working with children of all ages. Tamra’s work as a mediator and therapist has always been very impartial and ethical and she has been a strong advocate, educator, and mediator.

Through the use of counselling and mediation skills, Tamra Rigdon can help parents disengage from each other and lower the level of conflict that prevents them from making effective joint decisions involving their children. Where warranted, as a parenting coordinator, Tamra would act as a coach and educator, helping parents to better communicate and understand the nefarious effects of heightened conflict and discord on their children’s development and wellbeing. In the process, parents learn skills and techniques that they can use to improve relations between them.
